To assure accuracy, each detail was approved or corrected by advice from the person who knew his every hair, Judith Forbis, taking 6 months of careful work to create. It follows my highly recognized portrait of his sire, "Nazeer at the EAO".
Upon completion, Jerry Sparagowski, the photographer who captured him throughout his life, and his groom, Yvette Van Natta, both made public statements complimenting the accuracy of the portrayal. Best of all are the words of Steve Diamond, a long-time professional trainer. In a Facebook post, he said:
"Beautiful painting Barbara!!! You really captured his "essence". As I was scrolling through my feed, your post stopped me. I knew exactly who the horse was from his "essence"!!!. Having known and loved *Ansata Ibn Halima++ well as I had the honor of doing, I knew immediately who the painting was. Several of your little details, such as his front pasterns, his hip, and short back, and other little inklings let me know immediately who this was. So congratulations on capturing his "Essence" as that is a very difficult thing to do on any horse, or person for that matter. And congratulations on such an overall lovely painting! Steve Diamond
